Data Deletion Request
Your data belongs to you. Deleting it is simple, permanent, and free.
Effective date:
- Your account, business profile, and all AI-generated content are permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Your Meta (Instagram / Facebook / WhatsApp) connection is immediately revoked — we stop posting and reading your inbox at once.
- Your DM, lead, and customer interaction data is deleted within 90 days.
- Payment records are kept for 7 years only — required by Indian tax law (GST Act). No other data is retained.
- Deletion is irreversible. Export your data before requesting deletion.

1. Your Right to Deletion
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you have the right to request erasure of your personal data at any time. This right applies to all personal data Narriva holds about you in its capacity as a Data Fiduciary — including your account information, business profile, content history, inbox data, and leads.
This page also serves as Narriva's official Data Deletion Callback URL as required by Meta (Facebook / Instagram / WhatsApp) for apps that access their platform APIs. If you previously connected your Meta account to Narriva and have since revoked that permission, you can use this page to verify and trigger the deletion of any data we may hold.
2. How to Submit a Deletion Request
2.1 From Inside the App
The fastest way to delete your account is directly within the Narriva app:
- Open Narriva and go to Settings.
- Tap Account & Data.
- Select Delete My Account and confirm.
This immediately begins the deletion process. You will receive a confirmation email within 30 minutes.
2.2 By Email
If you no longer have access to the app, send an email to [email protected] with:
- Subject: Data Deletion Request
- The email address registered to your Narriva account
- Your registered business name (to help us locate your account)
- Optionally, the reason for deletion (helps us improve — not required)
We will verify your identity, acknowledge your request within 48 hours, and complete deletion within the timelines listed in Section 3 below.
2.3 Meta-Connected Accounts (Facebook Login)
If you used Facebook Login to create your Narriva account and revoked Narriva's permissions from your Meta account settings, Meta will automatically notify us to delete your data. You can verify the status of this deletion by emailing [email protected] with your Facebook profile name or email address. We will respond with a deletion confirmation code within 48 hours.
Revoke access on Meta's side too: Go to your Facebook or Instagram account → Settings → Security → Apps and Websites → find Narriva → Remove. This stops Narriva from accessing your social accounts instantly, even before our data deletion completes.
3. What Gets Deleted & When
Upon a confirmed deletion request, here is the exact timeline for each category of data:

4. Data We Are Required to Retain
In limited cases, we are legally required to retain certain records even after you request deletion:
- Payment and billing records: Subscription invoices, transaction IDs, and GST records are retained for 7 years as mandated by the Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 and the Income Tax Act, 1961. This data contains no social media content, messages, or business creative assets — only the financial transaction history.
- Anonymized model signals: Where we have derived anonymized, aggregated statistical patterns from your data to improve our AI (e.g., category-level engagement benchmarks), those aggregates cannot be traced back to you individually and are not considered personal data under the DPDP Act. These are not deleted as they contain no identifiable information.
- Legal hold data: If your account is subject to an active legal proceeding, court order, or regulatory inquiry under Indian law at the time of your deletion request, we may be required to preserve relevant data until that matter is resolved. We will notify you of any such hold to the extent permitted by law.
5. Before You Delete — Export Your Data
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Before submitting a request, we recommend exporting anything you want to keep:
- All AI-generated posts and captions (downloadable as a CSV from Settings → Export)
- Your leads list (downloadable as a CSV from the Leads tab)
- Your invoices and billing history (downloadable from Settings → Billing)
Once deletion is complete, there is no mechanism to recover your data. Narriva support cannot reverse a confirmed deletion.
6. Deletion Verification
After we complete your deletion request, we will send a final confirmation email to your registered address containing:
- A unique Deletion Confirmation Code for your records
- A summary of what was deleted and on which date
- A note on any data retained under legal obligation (Section 4)
You may reference your Deletion Confirmation Code in any future inquiry or complaint to the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Third-Party Platforms
Deleting your Narriva account does not delete your Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp accounts, nor any content you have already published to those platforms. Content published before your deletion request remains on those platforms under their own terms. To manage or delete that content, visit each platform's respective settings directly.
Narriva also uses Razorpay to process payments. Your payment data on Razorpay's systems is governed by Razorpay's Privacy Policy. Deleting your Narriva account does not automatically delete your Razorpay records — contact Razorpay directly for that.
8. Grievance Escalation
If you believe your deletion request has not been fulfilled within the timelines stated in this policy, or if you have any concerns about how we handled your data, you may:
- Contact our Grievance Officer: [email protected] — we respond within 48 hours.
- File a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India (once operational under the DPDP Act, 2023). The Board has authority to investigate and adjudicate complaints against Data Fiduciaries.
