Your account, your choice. This page walks you through exactly what happens when you delete your Narriva account — and how to do it.

Before you proceed — read this
  • Deletion is permanent. There is no undo. Your account cannot be recovered after deletion is confirmed.
  • Your active subscription is cancelled immediately. No refund is issued for unused days. Cancel your subscription first if you want to avoid this.
  • Instagram & Facebook are disconnected instantly. Narriva stops posting and reading your DMs the moment we confirm your request.
  • All your content, leads, and analytics are deleted within 30–90 days. Export what you need before requesting deletion.

1. Export Your Data First

Once deletion begins, your data cannot be recovered. Before submitting a deletion request, download everything you want to keep:

  • AI-generated posts & captions — Settings → Export → Download CSV
  • Leads list — Leads tab → Export → Download CSV
  • Invoices & billing history — Settings → Subscription & Invoices → Download
  • Catalogue (products & services) — Settings → Catalogue → Export

2. Cancel Your Subscription First (If Active)

Per our Refund Policy, no refund is issued for unused days in a billing cycle at the time of account deletion. Cancelling the subscription first (and deleting the account at the end of the paid period) is the best way to get full value from your remaining access.

3. How to Delete Your Account

3.1 By Email (Current Method)

Send an email to [email protected] with:

  • Subject: Account Deletion Request
  • The email address or phone number registered to your Narriva account
  • Your registered business name
  • Confirmation that you have exported any data you need (or that you are ok losing it)
  • Optionally, a reason for leaving (helps us improve — not required)

We will verify your identity and acknowledge your request within 48 hours. Deletion completes within the timelines listed in Section 4.

3.2 From Inside the App (Coming Soon)

In-app account deletion is being added to the Narriva app. Once available, the path will be:

  1. Open Narriva and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to Account → tap Delete Account.
  3. Read the confirmation summary and tap Confirm Deletion.

This will immediately revoke your platform connections and begin the deletion process. Until this feature ships, please use the email method above.

3.3 Meta-Connected Accounts

If you signed in with Google or connected your Instagram / Facebook via OAuth and have since revoked Narriva's permissions from your Meta account settings, Meta automatically notifies us to delete your data. You can verify the status of that deletion via our Data Deletion Request page or by emailing [email protected].

To revoke Narriva's access on Meta's side: Instagram / Facebook → Settings → Security → Apps and Websites → find Narriva → Remove.

4. What Gets Deleted and When

Upon confirmation of your deletion request, here is the exact timeline for every category of data we hold:

5. Data We Are Required to Retain

In limited cases, law requires us to keep certain records even after your deletion request:

  • Payment and billing records: Subscription invoices, transaction IDs, and GST records are retained for 7 years as mandated by the Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 and the Income Tax Act, 1961. This contains only financial transaction history — no social media content, messages, or creative assets.
  • Anonymized AI signals: Aggregated, non-identifiable patterns derived from your data (e.g., category-level engagement benchmarks) cannot be traced back to you individually and are not considered personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). These are not deleted.
  • Legal hold data: If your account is subject to an active legal proceeding or regulatory inquiry at the time of your request, we may be required to preserve relevant data until that matter is resolved. We will notify you of any such hold to the extent permitted by law.

6. What Happens to Your Instagram & Facebook

Deleting your Narriva account does not delete or affect your Instagram or Facebook accounts in any way. It only removes Narriva's permission to read and post on your behalf. Specifically:

  • Instagram: Your followers, posts, stories, and account remain intact. Narriva stops accessing your DMs and posting on your behalf immediately.
  • Facebook: Your page, posts, and ad accounts remain untouched. Narriva's access token is revoked immediately.
  • Content already published: Posts that Narriva previously published to your Instagram or Facebook remain on those platforms under their own terms. Narriva does not delete content already live on Meta platforms.
  • Razorpay: Your payment data on Razorpay's systems is governed by Razorpay's Privacy Policy. Contact Razorpay directly to delete your records with them.

7. Deletion Confirmation

After we complete your deletion request, we send a final confirmation email to your registered address containing:

  • A unique Deletion Confirmation Code for your records
  • A summary of what was deleted and on which date
  • A note on any data retained under legal obligation (Section 5)

You may reference this code in any future inquiry or complaint to the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I reactivate my account after deletion?

No. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. You can always create a new Narriva account with the same email after deletion, but none of your previous data — content, leads, analytics, or referral credits — can be restored.

What if I just want a break, not full deletion?

You can pause usage without deleting your account. Cancel your Razorpay subscription (billing stops), disconnect Instagram and Facebook from Settings (Narriva stops posting and reading DMs), and log out. Your account and all your data remain intact. You can reconnect and resubscribe at any time.

I signed up with Google. Does Google delete my data too?

No. Deleting your Narriva account only removes data within Narriva. Your Google account is completely separate. Narriva never stores your Google password — only a temporary OAuth token, which is revoked immediately upon account deletion.

Will I get a refund on my subscription?

No. Per our Refund Policy, subscriptions are non-refundable. To avoid losing paid days, cancel your subscription first and wait until the end of the billing period before deleting your account.

How long does deletion take?

We acknowledge your request within 48 hours. Platform access tokens are revoked immediately. Most account data is deleted within 30 days. DM and lead data within 90 days. Payment records are retained for 7 years per Indian tax law.
